In the heat of the moment at the coal face, we can only react, operate out of habit, do what needs to be done, right now. In the moment it is impossible to be emotionally detached if we are human. detachment definition Why try and achieve the impossible. Why not go for an easy goal?
What's easy is to relax, be present in the moment, and then when the the heat if off, take time out to reflect, learn from the moment. Be in the habit of reflecting with courage and becoming determined to implement a personal strategy that enables us to have more effective habits next time the heat is on.
